Day 20

The weekend came faster than expected. I went on a Highland tour, by Highland experience tours (https://www.highlandexperience.com/), called 'The Loch Ness Discovery'. I joined in together with Sina and Sophia, but no worries, we spoke English to each other. This was a small group tour, which means only twelve people were on one bus. We met with the guide and the other participants at quarter to eight in front of the office from Highland experience tours. We started our tour at eight o'clock.

Going north from Edinburgh, the first attraction we saw, were the bridges. There are three bridges to pass the forth. The red bride is for trains. The middle one was the first to be built for private vehicles. There is only one problem with the bridge. It is not able to transport the amount of traffic that passes every day. Due to that, they built a third bridge. All of them are about two and a half kilometers long.

After about two hours of driving, we made our first stop. We pulled in at a little village for a comfort break. After half an hour we went back to the bus and started driving again. We drove for another three hours, but we made some stops to take photos.

We arrived at the Loch Ness at half-past twelve. We had two hours at the southern end of the Loch Ness, Fort Augustus. We searched for a nice place to make a picknick. After that, we walked along the Loch for half an hour. We found a group of ducks which had some little fledgelings. We also found a house that had similarities with Hogwarts. On our way back, we passed the ducks again, but this time there was also a little rabbit. Sadly we didn't saw Nessie. Although the weather was good, which is said to be necessary to see the monster.

Our way back was different than our way to the Loch. We made some more stops to take photos, for example in Fort Williams. Unfortunately there were a few clouds which coverd the summit of Ben Nevis. Next to one of the parking areas were some Highland cows. They were called Honey and Hamish and those two had a little baby, which hadn't got a name yet.

Some of the places I saw were close to divinity, at least for me. We arrived in Edinburgh around 8:30 p.m. As soon as we arrived we went to a restaurant. As a matter of facts, we went to the same as last time, Vapiano. I came back to my host family's home at half past nine and went directly to sleep. Even though we mostly sat on the bus, the trip was really tiring.
